SEAONICS win Innovation of the Year Award at the 2023 Offshore Support Journal Conference in London
February 8th 2023, SEAONICS won the Innovation of the Year Award, at the OSJ (Offshore Support Journal Conference and Exhibition) Awards in London for the SEAONICS Electric Controlled Motion Compensated (ECMC) Crane. This award recognises an innovative product, service or system that has significantly improved an OSV design, build and/or operational aspect of an in-service OSV over the last 12 months. The SEAONICS crane is fully electric driven, allowing for efficient handling operations for a sustainable future. The control technology for the active motion compensation is developed by SEAONICS and is well proven in offshore wind operations. The boom control, slew control and telescope control are all electric driven and dynamically used to perform the 3D compensation of the crane tip.
The ceremony took place in London at the annual OSJ (Offshore Support Journal Conference and Exhibition) Awards during the event’s prestigious Industry Gala Dinner Wednesday night. The offshore industry from across Europe, the United States, and key established and emerging markets from around the globe were represented at the OSJ Conference, with over 450 industry professionals converging in London for this year’s event on February 7-9th. A highlight of this event is its gala dinner and awards, recognizing industry-leading innovation, operational excellence and achievement.
